"Caught in someone else's kind of love,” Gavin McGee’s debut studio project, explores the uncomfortable side of desire distracted by vulnerable moments of optimism and self-actualization. His six-song EP is brimming with folk-inspired earworm melodies and playful, familiar-feeling vocals. What Was Will Be Again is a collection of raw indie-rock ballads that pull you from one end to another.
After releasing his home recordings in 2022, Gavin had the opportunity to open for Dualtone Records’ newly signed indie-rock band flipturn. The 25-year-old has since grown a following of ardent fans playing shows around college campuses. While touring throughout the North East he met bandmates Jacob Zang and Jacob Stretch (the Jakes) immersed in the Midwest indie/folk scene. Together over the course of a year they recorded his debut studio project at the Red Caiman Studios in Pittsburgh, PA.
